I still have to research lots of things. I know some things about William H. Johnson, but i want to know more. I need more information on his llife, and how he became an artist. I still need to think about my analysis and my presentation. I do have some things on my research though, like about his schooling and where he has been around the world, including scholarships and his art.

This is a pianting by William H. Johnson, Cafe. It is of a man and a woman on a date, or out on an ocassion. They might be celebrating something or they just might be having a drink. They look like they might be a couple, but they might not be.

They dont look like they are laughing, so it might just be a mild mood setting. they might be waiting for somebody, or they could just be hanging out at the cafe. They look very bored with eachother, but there probably just waiting for somebody to come.

William H. Johnson created this painting in 1939 and finished it in 1940. The materials and techniques used are oil on a paperbored. This painting is currently held in Washington, DC, USA.

I have used the internet search engine. You can just look it up and it will tell/show you what your looking for. I learned that William H. Johnson was known for his majestic Scandonavian landscapes, and his witty and poignent scenes of African American daily life. Johnson created art on his own, original and fresh. Johnson left South Carolina in 1918 to study at the National Academy of Design in New York. So I pretty much know that he was an African American artist that had amazing talent in art, and he got a scolarship to travel the word, and to go to amazing different places.

So far, my expiriences with the "Human Form in Art" are new. I have never really looked at the "Human Form in Art" in a bold way. I have chosen a piece of artwork, its called Self-Portrait, 1929. Oil on canvas, 23 1/4 x 18 1/4 in. The artist is William H. Johnson. I am still wondering if that really is the title of the painting. Who was this man? Did he accomplish anything in life to make him more famous? How old was he when he painted this portrait? Next im going to read the information on this artist, and find out information on the painting.
